                                                               Menthe Tambuli

Menthe (methi seeds, Fenugreek seeds ) has a lot of medicinal value. It helps with digestion and to ease cramps. If you are feeling bloated, it's a good recipe to make. It's a good source of protein. As it is a medicinal herb, it always should be used moderately with food and occasionally in controlled quantity as a spice.
Tambuli, as I explained earlier, is a very simple and nutritious dish of Mangalore cuisine. It can be made using different ingredients, and the purpose of eating it in a meal is to balance the effect of vegetables, grains, and spices. Consuming it helps in digestion. Overall it taste yummy.

3/4 tsp Methi seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 cup curd/yogurt
1/4 cup fresh grated coconut
salt
2-3 red chilies(Kashmiri chili/byadige mensu/non spicy chili)
1/2 tsp ghee
1/4-1/2 cup warm water
Seasoning:
1tsp Ghee
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
pinch of hing(asafoetida)(optional)
curry leaves
1 red chili broken into pieces

Procedure:
Take a pan and 1/2 tsp ghee. Put fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds. Roast for 1 minute. Add red chilies and roast them all until nice flavor and the color changes. Add coconut and fry for a few more minutes.Switch off the flame and let it cool .

Grind the roasted ingredient with yogurt and salt, and add little by little warm-hot water according to your consistency. I prefer medium smooth consistency.

Remove it in the serving bowl and give seasoning. Enjoy with hot plain rice.
