Prasadam------------Sapathapaksh (Sheera)

Sapathapaksh, name itself tells you that for this recipe we need 7types of ingredients(Sapatha-sapta is seven in sanskrit). This is nothing but sooji ka halwa or in Marathi they say sheera,in Bangalore we call it Kesari Bhath but as this is prepared mostly as prasadam that too mainly for satyanarayan puja we add few more ingredients for this halwa which makes it little different from the original sheera.
Satyanarayan puja is a ritual performed by Hindu's before or on any major occasions like marriage ,house warming ceremony etc..It can also be performed on any day for any reason. For this puja usually you should   prepare a offering of prasad which should have a mixture of milk, honey, banana, sugar, ghee etc and this sapathpaksh is the same.
When i was kid we used to wait after the puja for this tasty prasadam. For this you need  more of ghee and its loaded with dry fruits, but really the taste is amazing. If you are very weight conscious then you can reduce the amount of ghee and dry fruits but texture and the taste of Halwa will defer. My mom always prepare this /sheera on Ramnavmi and so do i now.so when last month we celebrated Ramnavmi i prepared this prasadam and offered it for god.here is the recipe please check it out .
Ingredients:
1 cup Chiroti(fine) rawa(semolina) (medium/fineSooji any one you can use)
1 cup Ghee(if needed can add 1/4 cup)
1 cup whole milk
1 big Banana(cut into small pieces)
2 tsp honey
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup full mixed dry fruits like raisins,Broken cashews, cut almonds etc
1 tsp cardamon powder
1/2 cup water(optional)
Method:
Take heavy bottom pan put 3 tsp of ghee and when ghee is little hot add rawa.Fry continuously till nice aroma come and color of the rawa turns light red color .remove and keep it aside.
In the same pan put 1 tsp ghee to fry  raisins and cashews till golden brown.remove this also and keep it aside.
Now in the same pan add milk, sugar and stir them properly so that sugar is dissolved completely.when milk mixture start boiling add rawa and start stirring it continuously so that rawa is mixed properly and lumps won't form.Add 1/2 of the remaining ghee and continue stirring.
Finally when rawa is completely mixed say approximately after 3-4 minutes and all ghee is absorbed add  cut bananas, cardamon powder, honey, dry fruits, remaining all ghee and stir them  for 2 more minutes.
Occasionally stirring them let this halwa be cook for final 2 minutes,if you feel extra1/4 cup ghee is needed as halwa feels dry then you can add more other wise 1 cup is more than enough.
Serve like that or spread it over greased plate and try to make shapes. You can also serve making ladoos too.Anyshape this halwa taste very good.If wanted to prepare as prasad or otherwise i offer all sweets first to god then taste. My kids too love this prasad .This halwa i feel somewhat  healthy also for kids.
